Like everyone thought, it was a huge success. Since it’s an updated version of the classic Quarter Pounder, it’s no surprise that it went popular on TikTok and in real life.

But sadly, even the best things must end. The Travis Scott is no longer for sale, but it will always be in our thoughts… and in this recipe that was copied!

You don’t have to be a fan of Travis Scott to love his burger. When you put together bread, a beef burger, bacon, and cheese, you can’t go wrong. Even though this burger doesn’t have Travis Scott’s name on it, it’s just as good.

Ingredients 

  • Sesame Seed Burger Bun: Any brand works, but I think Pepperidge Farms buns look and taste the most like Mickey D’s. You don’t have to toast the buns ahead of time, but I really think you should. It makes the buns taste creamy and slightly crisp, which is just too good to pass up.
  • If you are toasting the buns, add butter and garlic salt.
  • Bacon is what turns a Quarter Pounder burger into a Travis Scott burger. Choose the applewood-smoked bacon with thick slices. It tastes sweet and spicy, which goes really well with the beef patty.
  • Ground Beef: Always use 80/20 ground chuck for moist and juicy burgers.
  • A little bit of salt and pepper goes a long way. You don’t want the tastes to be too strong because you don’t want them to overpower the other parts of the burger.
  • Two slices of American cheese for extra melty goodness.
  • Ketchup and yellow mustard are two of the most popular sauces, and they never let you down.
    Diced white onion, dill pickles, and shredded lettuce are the classic fixings for burgers.

Tips for the Best Burger 

  • Use beef of good quality. After all, the bun is the star of the show. I like to use ground chuck that is between 80% and 85% lean. It makes a dish with just the right amount of sweetness and taste.
  • Using even leaner beef will make your burger dry.
  • If you can’t find chuck, you can use cross rib roast or sirloin roast instead. As long as you stick to the right amount of meat to fat, you’ll be fine.
  • Make your own ground beef. It takes more time and work, but you know the result will be good.
  • Even though store ground meats are cheap, you never know what other kinds or cuts of meat are in them.
  • Don’t work the meat too much. There are a lot of recipes that say to mix the ground beef with salt, pepper, onions, and other things, but I think it’s best to leave it alone. When you mix the meat too much, the juices run out, leaving you with a dry burger. Just shape it gently into a ball and season the outside.
  • Make the patty a little bit bigger than the buns, about an inch. As it cooks, it will shrink, giving you the right amount of burger to bun.
  • Make a hole in the middle of the patty with your thumb to keep it from getting too big. You see, when the meat is heated, the juices move toward the center, making the burger bigger. The problem is then solved by making a dent.
  • Before you cook the burger, put it in the fridge for 10 minutes to seal in the juices.
  • Leave the patty alone once it’s in. Don’t press it or keep flipping it, just leave it alone. The burger gets harder the more you press and flip it.
  • Use a meat thermometer to make sure the patty is done. For it to be safe to eat, it needs to be at least 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the burger rest for 5 minutes so that the juices can spread out again. The burgers will be as juicy as possible.
  • To make the burger look like fast food that has been cooked, put the whole thing in the microwave for 30 seconds. Your burger will be nice and hot when it comes out.
  • Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun to make burgers more juicy.
